At the Disc Replacement Center of Excellence, we like to make sure our patients have the answers to all their questions about insurance, billing, and costs for our services.  Because there are so many different types of insurance plans, understanding the options can sometimes appear overwhelming. At our surgery center, we accept the following insurance providers:

  • Aetna
  • Cigna
  • Health Net
  • United

If you do not have one of these insurance providers, we also accommodate outside plans with competitive pricing.

If you have any questions about your specific insurance, the plans we accept, or anything else related to insurance, don’t hesitate to contact us for clarification. We can be reached at (888) 309-2848 or by email. You are also welcome to contact us in order to confirm your insurance policy is accepted before meeting with one of our doctors. In addition, you can request a personal coverage assessment for a more in-depth look at your coverage.

Accepted Insurance Plans at the Disc Replacement Center of Excellence

At the Disc Replacement Center of Excellence we accept all PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) plans. We are also willing to work with your insurance carrier to confirm your specific coverage. PPOs are among the most common insurance plans because they provide a broad level of freedom for selecting a desired healthcare provider or facility. Aetna, Cigna, Health Net, and United are the PPO insurance plans we accept.

To assist patients with insurance plans that are not accepted by the Disc Replacement Center of Excellence, we offer a cash discount. Our billing department will decide the specifics of payment plans for patients with no insurance.

Fees, Payments, and Co-Payments

Multiple factors are typically involved when a patient has a procedure preformed at the Disc Replacement Center of Excellence. A facility fee is charged for each procedure that is done in our outpatient surgery center. In addition to the facility fee, there are also separate fees for your surgeon, the consulting physician, the anesthesiologist, and any required lab or pathology work. These fees all vary depending on your specific needs.

Our patients are responsible for paying for their procedure before going into surgery. This includes the estimated deductible and co-payments. At the Disc Replacement Center of Excellence we accept cash, personal checks (for co-payments only), VISA, Discover, MasterCard, and American Express. After you pay we will bill your insurance provider on your behalf.

The Benefits of Outpatient Surgery

Both cost and quality are important factors to consider when choosing a surgical facility. Because the Disc Replacement Center of Excellence is an outpatient surgery center, we are able to offer personalized, high-quality care in a safe and controlled environment.

Our combination of world-renown doctors, unique structure, and cutting-edge technology allow us to perform many procedures on an outpatient basis that would require an inpatient hospital stay at other facilities. One major downside of an inpatient stay is the high cost. Because of this, many patients find that ultimately our services are similar or less expensive than an inpatient stay in a hospital.

Another advantage of outpatient surgery is that patients are significantly less likely to contract an infection. This is because the Disc Replacement Center of Excellence facility is a non-emergency, elective surgery center. Because it is a non-emergency facility our patients are also much less likely to experience delays in their procedures. Finally, our doctors and staff work together every day. That means they are familiar with each other and well trained as a team to be more efficient, reducing time spent under anesthesia for the patient. With all of these advantages combined, we think it’s easy to see why the Disc Replacement Center of Excellence has earned a reputation among doctors as the “go to” facility for outpatient surgical care.
